DAY 1 FRIDAY OCT 11 DEPART ATLANTA to NEW YORK to ACCRA, GHANA
Meet and greet 3:30 PM at departure gate at Hartfield International Terminal at Atlanta, Georgia. Flight departs Atlanta at 5:48 PM on Delta Airlines flight # DL 2021 and arrive at 8:15 PM at JFK Airport in New York. Flight departs at 11:12 PM on Delta Airlines flight # DL 420 to Accra, Ghana and arrive the next day Oct 12 at 1:35 PM.
DAY 2 SATURDAY OCT 12 WELCOME to ACCRA, GHANA
Arrive at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana at 1:35 PM. Our Ghana staff will escort us from baggage claim or Airport exit to bus after 3 PM for a 30 mins drive to transfer to Movenpick hotel. Brief orientation with Welcome dinner at 7PM. DAY 3 SUNDAY OCT 13 ABURI & TUTU MOUNTAINS/ LEGON
Wake up call, morning exercise and breakfast. 8 AM Leave hotel for a 45 mins to 1 hour drive to Aburi and Tutu in the Mountains. Stop by Rita Marley Studio and Foundation to take pictures outside. Visit Trinity Home Academy a School in Tutu to donate school supplies. Shop at Aburi Wood Carving Village. Take a walk through Aburi botanical gardens. Visit University of Ghana for campus tour. 7 PM enjoy Dinner and night life out in East Legon at Jam Rock Restaurant. Enjoy an incredible Ghanaian/Jamaican buffet with a great music and social gathering. Overnight at Movenpick Hotel.
DAY 4 MONDAY OCT 14 ACCRA CITY TOUR – INVESTMENT CONFERENCE
Wake up call, morning exercise and breakfast. 8 AM Leave hotel for Accra City tour including Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the Culture Center, Independence Square, George Padmore Library and the WEB Dubois Center. At hotel 5:30 PM Dinner. 6:30 - 8:30 PM Repatriation and Investment Conference with Africans born in the Diaspora and local business people. Social gathering for night life at Chez Afriq Restaurant in the neighborhood. Enjoy the scenery, great music and networking. Overnight at Movenpick hotel.
DAY 5 TUESAY OCT 15 ACCRA to ELMINA/ CAPE COAST
Wake up call, morning exercise and breakfast. Check out of hotel for a 90 mins drive to Garvey Town Community in Gomoa in the Central Region for a tour of the land. We will visit the Marcus Garvey School on the property to donate school supplies and financial contributions. Then depart for 2 hour drive to Cape Coast. Drive through the Cape Coast University for Campus Tour. Then take a short drive to paradise at Coconut Grove Resort in Elmina. 7 PM Dinner and various night life options. DAY 6 WEDNESDAY OCT 16 ELMINA/ CAPE COAST HOLOCAUST DUNGEONS
Wake up call, morning exercise and breakfast. Dress in your all white outfits for our second ancestral reconnection day. 9 AM Depart for the Cape Coast or Elmina Holocaust Dungeons where many of our ancestors were held prior to shipment across the Atlantic during the European slave trade of Stolen Africans after going through the Door of no return.
Naming ceremony on One Africa beach front. 7 PM Dinner and various night life options. Overnight at the Coconut Grove Resort.
DAY 7 THURSDAY OCT 17 ELMINA SCHOOL VISIT /KAKUM NATIONAL PARK
Wake up call, morning exercise and breakfast. 9 AM Depart from Coconut Grove Resort to go for a 45 mins ride to the Kakum Rain Forest for the Canopy walk and hike tour. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure in paradise. Lunch to Farewell dinner at 7 PM with various night life options. Overnight at the Coconut Grove Resort. www.coconutgrovehotelsghana.com
DAY 8 FRIDAY OCT 18 CAPE COAST to KUMASI - ASHANTI REGION
Wake up call, morning exercise and breakfast. 9 AM Check out of hotel for a 5 hour drive to Kumasi. 1 hour into the ride we will stop by the Assin Manso Old Slave Market and Ancestral River Park. Continue onto Kumasi while enjoying group discussions, documentaries and relaxation time on the way to Kumasi in the Ashanti region. Drive through the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology. Check into Miklin Hotel. 7 PM Dinner, social gathering with group and various night life options. DAY 9 SATURDAY OCT 19 KUMASI – SHOPPING at CULTURAL CENTERS
Wake up call, morning exercise and breakfast. 8AM Leave hotel for Kumasi City Tour and Neighboring Craft Villages including Bonwire the famous Kente cloth weaving, Ntonso for Kente Weaving and Adinkra Printing and Wood Carving village. Lunch at Ike’s Cafe and Grill. More shopping at the Culture Center. 7 PM Dinner, social gathering with group and various night life options. Overnight at Miklin hotel.
DAY 10 SUNDAY OCT 20 KUMASI – SHOPPING/ ASHANTI PALACE/ THE CULTURE CENTER
Wake up call, morning exercise and breakfast. 8AM Leave hotel for Kumasi City Tour and Ashanti Palace and more shopping at the Culture Center. Lunch at Ike’s Cafe and Grill. 7 PM Dinner, social gathering with group and various night life options. . Overnight at the Miklin hotel in Kumasi. www.miklinhotels.com
DAY 11 MONDAY OCT 21 DEPART KUMASI to ATLANTA via NEW YORK
Wake up call, morning exercise and breakfast. Move all bags to the designated departure area by 7 AM. Check out of rooms by 8 AM. Depart at 9 AM for a 5 hour drive to Accra. Early dinner at 4 PM at Ghanaian restaurant by the Airport. Check into Accra Airport at 6:30 PM for an 11:25 PM departure on flight # DL 421 flight to JFK New York.
Arrive at 6:25 AM the next day Tuesday Oct 22 then depart for Atlanta at 8:30 AM and arrive at 10:56 PM.
